Formal charges have been brought against two men following a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.

These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage taken after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.

A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.

This event – described by police as was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
