Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt prepared to post publicly about his profound loss.

The actor posted never-before-seen clips from the movie, adding that he could not remember "one day without laughter".
"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob valued immensely. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to guide it," Elwes continued.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I recall you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."
Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade
In a different essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"From the start, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.
Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the protagonist.

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to block the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, at the request from the local authorities.
A court order placed a security hold on the files to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.
The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the outcome of homicide, with a official listing listing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".
