Debated American-supported Gaza Relief Group Terminates Relief Activities

The controversial, United States and Israel-funded Gaza relief foundation declares it is terminating its aid operations in the Palestinian territory, after almost six months.

The foundation had earlier paused its multiple aid distribution centers in Gaza after the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel took effect six weeks ago.

The GHF aimed to avoid UN systems as the main supplier of relief to Palestinian residents.

International relief agencies refused to co-operate with its approach, stating it was unethical and unsafe.

Many residents were killed while trying to acquire nourishment amid chaotic scenes near GHF's sites, mainly through Israeli military action, as reported by United Nations.

Israeli authorities stated its forces fired warning shots.

The foundation announced on Monday that it was concluding activities now because of the "effective conclusion of its humanitarian effort", with a total of three million packages containing the amounting to in excess of 187 million sustenance units provided to residents.
