Colts Face Falcons in German Capital – Week 10 NFL Action

Hello, football fans. Wie gehts? Alles klar I trust on this fine morning kickoff to week 10 coming directly from Deutschland. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be precise where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the powerful Colts (7-2) face off against the Atlanta Falcons (3-5). The fifth game played on German soil and the first in the nation’s capital.

Pre-match Highlights

When it comes to glittering attire that is an absolute belter from the Olympic figure skater on the coin toss. A minor slip from the broadcast team there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the commentator with an unfortunately hot mic.

Well, the coin toss went to Indianapolis and have chosen to get the ball first. The Colts' offense will be setting up shortly. Can the quarterback recover after a difficult performance in their last game?

Not to be outdone the vocalist performing the Star Spangled Banner has some of the biggest shoulder embellishments you are bound to notice. Loving the sartorial choices today. The game is about to start after a choir performance for the German anthem. Elegant.

Opening Period Action

Colts 0-0 Falcons 13:30, 1st quarter

And we're off! And we have early drama after the Colts running back catches a screen pass, sweeps out for 15 yards to the right then loses the ball … only for his offensive lineman to recover the fumble with the recovery. Colts are in Falcons territory already.

Still scoreless at 10:51

And the drama keeps coming as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The risk doesn't work out as the wide receiver fails to catch a quick pass from Jones. On the play before the turnover on downs Jessie Bates put a massive tackle on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. Atlanta's defense started strong as they try and snap their string of three losses. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Score Updates

First score: Colts lead 6-0 at 8:36

Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was wide open but the ball just swishes through his hands. That moment reflects the first round pick’s career to date.

So far, so disappointing but it only deteriorates for the Atlanta as they turn over possession to the Indianapolis on the 23-yard line. Michael Penix Jr is hunted down and fumbles the football.

An agile 22-yard rush from Ashton Dulin sets Jonathan Taylor up to roll in for the score on the following play. Kicker Michael Badgley skews the extra point wide. Oops.

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter

The quarterback recovers from the turnover by marching his Falcons down the field for a score of their own. Drake London makes some substantial catches to put them in the red zone then the seas part for Tyler Allgeier to run untouched into the end zone through the middle of the defense for 13 yards. He completes the drive for a one-yard touchdown of his own. The Falcons take the lead.

Additional Tenth Week Games

Additionally, the full slate starting at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (with home teams first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Panthers v New Orleans Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Bears v Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Houston Texans v Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Dolphins v Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Minnesota Vikings v Baltimore Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) Jets v Cleveland Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Buccaneers v Patriots (7-2)

An exciting lineup. I’m planting my flag on Minnesota and Baltimore playing out the top contest of the day.
